Role Overview
We are seeking a talented Electrical & Automation Systems Engineer to join our multidisciplinary R&D and engineering team. In this role, you will design and develop advanced control and automation systems for electric motor testing platforms. You will take part in developing new generation technologies that power the most advanced R&D labs and production lines around the world.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement electrical and automation systems for motor testing platforms, including control cabinets and panel layouts.
- Develop and configure automation sequences using industrial PLCs (Siemens, Beckhoff, etc.).
- Integrate sensors, actuators, drives (VFDs), and communication protocols (CAN, Modbus, PROFINET).
- Prepare wiring diagrams and schematics using EPLAN or similar software.
- Collaborate with mechanical, software, and application engineers for full system integration.
- Perform system-level testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting on customer sites (global travel may be required).
- Ensure compliance with international standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE) in system design and implementation.
Requirements
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in electrical and automation system design, preferably in machinery or industrial systems.
- Hands-on experience with PLC programming (TIA Portal, Codesys) and HMI development.
- Knowledge of control theory, motor drives (servo and VFD), and electrical safety standards.
- Familiarity with high-voltage systems and industrial testing environments – a strong advantage.
- Ability to read and create technical drawings and documentation (EPLAN preferred).
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
- Fluent in Hebrew and English (written and spoken).
